7.2. Dynamics marks

A dynamics mark is a string, such as “p”, “pp”, “sfz”, “mp”, “fff”, “mf”, etc. attached to a note and by default placed under the note, on the space between the note staff and the next staff:

dynamics ::=  (dyn string [placement] printOptions* )

The most usual dinamics marks are:

ppp - pianississimo
pp  - painissimo
p   - piano
mp  - mezzo piano
mf  - mezzo forte
f   - forte
ff  - fortissimo
fff - fortississimo
sfz - sforzando
fp  - forte-piano

In addition, in LDP the following strings are also supported:

m       - mezzo
r       - rinforzando
s       - sforzando
z
n       - niente
fz      - forzando
sf      - sforzando
sfp     - sforzando-piano
sfpp    - sforzando-pianissimo
sfzp    - sforzato-piano
